I hope all who wanted to see the eclipse in person saw the first half, because the last half was hidden by heavy clouds here. We were warned this might happen so I sat down half an hour before the total and saw a lot of it. There were brief moments of clouds, then they never moved away and we didn't see Totality. Next time, eh?

As we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of December we must get things in perspective. Jesus is the Reason For The Season. Thank you Father for sending your son to save this sinful world. No bells, no elves, no audience hailing the Greatest Star ever. Mary was able to birth the Savior of the World in a stable with the assistance of her husband Joseph. Angels provided the announcement and the music, shepherds the audience and foreign Maggi the extravagant gifts which sustained the family temporarily. That's what is on my mind this week. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE. Think of others, by the way.

Tis is the best September weather I can remember. Summer is over in a couple days, but you wouldn't know it. Bumper crop of tomatoes and black currants. Thank you God and kudos to living in southeastern Ontario.
