There's a municipal election on the horizon! We teamed up with local arts, culture, and heritage orgs in to ask the candidates running for Mayor and for Council some burning questions.

We covered a lot of ground:
-Civic Experience
-Community Engagement & Transparency
-Understanding of Nelson Arts, Culture, and Heritage Sector
-Understanding of Non-Profit Sector
-Truth, Reconciliation & Indigenous Relationships
-Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility
-Participation in Arts, Culture & Heritage
-The Future of Arts, Culture & Heritage in Nelson
-Municipal Investment
-Affordable & Accessible Cultural Space
-Arts, Culture & Heritage in City Planning
and more!

You can find their responses to our survey here: https://ndac.ca/news/2026-municipal-election-arts-culture-and-heritage-survey/

Please help us share these responses! The info shared in these surveys will be helpful for anyone voting in the 2026 municipal election in Nelson to review.
