I’ve always been a fixer.

Sometimes that’s a good thing, sometimes...not so much. But when it comes to hats, it’s a perfect fit.

One of my favorite parts of renovating a hat is hearing the story behind it. Where it’s been, what it’s seen, and why it’s worth saving. Every crease, stain, and worn edge usually has a memory attached to it.

Then comes the work—cleaning, reshaping, repairing, and bringing it back to life while preserving the character that made it theirs in the first place.

And the best part…seeing someone’s face when they get it back.

Shape wise, it was still looking pretty good. but missing a sweatband on the inside. So while we had it we gave it a full clean and rebuilt it with a custom fit. And sewed the hatband back on.

A hat is only as good as its fit.

Our custom wood hat band blocks are handcrafted from basswood and made to the exact shape of your head. Each one is labeled with your name and size, making it easy to keep your hat fitting exactly as it should.

When you’re not wearing your hat, simply leave the block inside. Felt hats naturally shrink over time when they sit—it’s just what they do. A custom band block helps maintain the shape and size you worked so hard to get just right.

What a great weekend The Cypress Farm & Ranch Show Country Marketplace in Medicine Hat!

We met lots of great people, and every day brought customers looking for something different. Day 3 was all about our custom 100% beaver hats and hat renovations, helping people get measured for the perfect fit.

We even had the chance to meet Quick Dick McDick and shape up his hat for him. Unfortunately, in the rush of getting everyone’s hats finished, I never thought to grab a photo. If you don’t already follow him, check out his page—he seems like a genuinely great guy.

The weekend was filled with new friendships, family visits, and great conversations. I also had fantastic help in the booth, proving once again how impressive our youth can be

We’ve had the highway sign pointing you in the right direction, but once you got in the yard… things got a little less clear 😅

That’s changed now…our Hat Doctor sign is up right in front of the building, so you’ll know exactly where to go when you arrive.
