[Just Released] The Monsoons Panel African Working Group published a review paper this year assessing the performance of state-of-the-science climate models in simulating African precipitation. The paper highlights recent advances in understanding precipitation processes across Africa while identifying key challenges and priorities for improving climate information to support adaptation and mitigation efforts. We are looking for motivated individuals with the scientific expertise to fulfil the terms of reference of the SSG and our 9 panels (https://clivar.org/clivar-panels).

Nominations that promote gender and geographical balance, and opportunities for scientists and researchers from developing countries, are encouraged.

Nominations close on 16 August 2026.
