A couple of year after I started my business I used to make these beach hut bags, I’ve just found some leftover fabric to make some more- slightly bigger to fit all the essentials , I’m taking them to Abbots Ripton today to see what kind of response they get 😊

One of the nice things about being retired from my job is that I get to spend more time in my workroom learning new skills or practising skills I haven’t used for a long time - thanks to my Instagram which is full of sewing hints and tips.
This week I’ve learnt how to make envelope corners at the base of my bags which I think looks more stylish than boxed corners.
Wish I’d done them on my beach bag but the ones I’m making for folksy will have the envelope corners!
My beach bag is all done except for the magnetic fastening and then straight in my suitcase for my next trip !

Everywhere I go on my holiday I try to squeeze a bit of fabric into my bag before I come home .
This gorgeous print is from Portugal and is perfect for a beach bag (for me)
And there will be 3 more heading into my folksy shop - I’m just waiting for the rope for the handles to arrive. Just need to plan what to do with the fabric from turkey and Greece before I head off to Spain to buy more 😂😂

Working on something a little different at the moment .
At the Histon Beer festival last year got chatting to one of the organisers and he said that they had made bunting from the previous year advertising banners. Me and my big mouth said how about Tote bags for the future!!!
So here’s the first , not the easiest fabric to work with as it’s not flexible at all but I’m pretty pleased.
They are a limited edition and I assume will only be available at the Beer festival last.

I’ve been busy as my workroom seems to be the coolest room in the house and these cute cat bags have now been delivered to The Craft Shelf
In St Neots .
The rest will be heading to Bury St Edmund’s makers market on Sunday and yes it looks like it will be a hot one 🌞🌞
