Pricing your handmade products properly is something nobody really teaches you, but it makes all the difference.

Before Good Fabric, I spent years working in production and manufacturing and this costing method is something I've used for a long time. The numbers look a little different for handmade versus factory made, but the concept is exactly the same.

Sometimes you just need to know when to accept defeat and move on.

What started as a completely disastrous project ended up as a beautiful dress for my daughter. I used Mini Marcel pattern from

I don't sew as often as I'd like, and when I do, I want to enjoy it, so this recent fiasco was a good reminder of that. The journey is just as important as the end result, if not more.

So if you're just not feeling it, pivot, change, chop it up or walk away. All of it is acceptable and ok.

Six years ago I started Good Fabric from nothing, during one of the strangest times any of us have lived through.

It was meant to give me flexibility and something of my own. I had no idea it would become this.

I've been exploring London and keep finding incredible gems full of creativity. Here are my favorite bits from April and May:

- Hapa Zome workshop hosted by at . The hammering of leaves into cloth is incredible therapeutic
- used old Singer sewing tables as their furniture inside the cafe. Every single table was a sewing machine :)
- Loved how Orleans House in Twickneham has embraced creativity and mindfulness. Such a stunning house and we loved drawing on the walls
- I love to sew but I am a huge fan of crochet so visiting got me very excited about the next project (after i finished all my WIP Toft kits)

Most people assume low MOQ sourcing is impossible when you’re starting out, but that’s not the full picture.

High minimums (and penalties for ordering less) are still common in the industry, which makes it hard to test fabrics properly or build a considered collection.

But there are suppliers out there working very differently, with flexible MOQs that actually support small brands rather than exclude them.
