🏃‍♂️📊 Zone 2, it’s getting a lot of attention these days. Some people are saying it’s not the only way to train for endurance, which is true, but the evidence is pretty solid.

We’ve rebuilt Ready Sweat Go. 💪🤖

From the outset, I wanted it to do more than put good products on a page.

Training already has to fit around work, family, tired days, weather and changing plans. Finding the right nutrition, hydration or recovery product shouldn’t add another job to the list.

You can still shop directly when you know what you need. When you want a little help, there’s Fuel Finder, Fuel Facts, practical guides and Fuel Packs. 🧐

AI helped us build parts of it. More on that later. The important bit is that there are still very human-y humans behind it all! 🏃🏼❤️

We made a thing. Come and have a look: 😃

Being a ‘lifelete’ means some runs are for performance and others are simply about getting out the door, clearing your head, and putting the work in around real life. 🏃‍♂️

What type of run are you aiming for this week? Easy recovery miles, structured intervals, or just a mental reset? Comment below! 👇

Most runners and cyclists know they need to load up on carbohydrates before a big race. But the classic strategy, eating a big bowl of pasta at 9:00pm the night before, often leads to poor sleep, an upset stomach, and feeling sluggish when the race morning alarm goes off.

Carb loading isn't about eating as much food as humanly possible. It’s about efficiently saturating your muscle glycogen stores.

Here is our practical, real-world take on it:

1. Start earlier, don't just eat bigger ⏱️
Effective carb loading begins 36 to 48 hours before your event, not the night before. This gives your body time to absorb and store the glycogen without forcing your digestive system to work overtime while you're trying to sleep.

2. Reduce the fibre and fat 🥐
In the final two days before a race, reduce high-fibre and fatty foods. Fibre slows down digestion and stays in your gut, which is the last thing you want when running or riding for hours. Swap to easily digestible, low-fiber carb staples like white rice, bagels, oats, and bananas.

3. Why liquid and targeted sports nutrition are necessary 🎯
This is where people hit a wall: trying to eat 8–10 grams of carbs per kilogram of body weight purely through solid food is hard work. It leaves you feeling uncomfortably full.

That’s why supplementing regular food with targeted endurance fuel is way better.
Tailwind Endurance Fuel / High-Carb Mixes: Sipping your carbs throughout the day adds 50g–100g of pure, digestible carbohydrates to your daily total without filling your stomach up
Veloforte Bars & Chews: Real-food, dual-source carbs that deliver concentrated energy in small, delicious bites are perfect for topping up glycogen during travel or race-eve prep

By pairing clean, simple food staples with sports nutrition, you get all the stored energy you need.

How do you handle your pre-race fuelling? Are you team "big bowl of pasta" or do you prefer keeping it light with high-carb drinks and chews? Let us know below! 👇

How many carbs per hour do you need?

There is no useful single answer for every endurance session. Duration, intensity, experience, goal and the amount your gut is trained to tolerate all matter.

Fuel Finder starts with broad hourly ranges, then adjusts within sensible caps using the details you provide. For context, its current planning bands begin at 0–30g per hour below 90 minutes, 30–60g per hour from 90 minutes to three hours, and 40–75g per hour for longer events before individual adjustments.

The number on screen is a planning range, not a challenge. Start with what you tolerate, build in training and make sure the format still works late in the session.

👟🚴‍♂️ Whether you’re stepping up to the start line of a 100k trail ultra, or setting off on a multi-day bikepacking route, we all have that one thing we have to do before the whistle blows.

For some, it’s the meticulous layout of kit on the living room floor the night before.

For others, it’s finding that exact fuel-to-fluid ratio.

So, let's hear it: What is the ONE non-negotiable fuelling ritual or staple product you rely on before you set off? 👇💬

Not every training session needs a full fuelling plan. The useful question is: which sessions this month actually need fuel?

The Training Fuel Box route asks how many fuelled sessions you have each week and what those longer sessions usually look like, from one to two hours through to back-to-back long days.

Fuel Finder then builds an approximate one-month box for those key sessions. It is a practical starting point you can reorder or adjust as training changes. Subscriptions are coming soon; for now, the box is a one-off basket you control.

If you browse through the online shop at Ready Sweat Go, you’ll notice something pretty quickly: our shelves aren't overflowing with hundreds of random options.

And that’s totally deliberate.

The sports nutrition and endurance market is totally flooded with gimmicks, novelty products, and over-hyped gear. But as everyday athletes, or ‘ifeletes,’ balancing work, family, and training, you don't have time or money to waste on stuff that doesn't deliver.

When we decide what earns a place in the RSG range, we like to consider things like...

Quality & Performance: Does it actually solve a real problem for a runner, cyclist, or multi-sport athlete? If an energy chew gives you stomach problems or a sunscreen slides off in the heat, it’s no use for us.
Integrity & Sustainability: We care about how things are made and who makes them. We champion brands that hold themselves to higher standards, like B-Corps and eco-conscious partners such as Ocean Bottle or Fussy. (Plus, as members of 1% for the Planet, looking after the spaces where we train matters to us).
The "Scottish Hills" test: Before anything makes it onto our site, it gets tested by us. If it can’t handle a windy, wet, four-hour session, we won't sell it to you. Simple as that.

No fluff, no hype. Just hand-picked, trusted gear that actually works.

A hotter day does not simply mean “add more of everything”.

Heat changes the hydration problem. Sweat rate and sweat sodium vary widely between athletes, which is why useful hydration plans are individual rather than one universal number.

In Fuel Finder, temperature adjusts the broad sodium guide and the amount of electrolyte support included where it fits. It does not let an electrolyte-only product replace carbohydrate fuel, and temperature does not automatically lift the carbohydrate target.

Add the expected temperature, then sense-check the result against what you have learned from training in similar conditions:

Avoid overdrinking as well as underdrinking. For individual medical or nutrition advice, speak to an appropriately qualified professional.

☀️🌡️What used to feel like a rare, once-a-summer heatwave is becoming something we have to adapt to longer-term, especially for those living down south.

Training in high temperatures isn't just uncomfortable, heat is a physical stressor that changes the demands on your body. Here are 3 things to keep in mind and some of our recommended products to keep you from burning out:

1. Drop your pace expectations ⏱️

Heat forces your heart to work harder just to keep you cool. At the exact same effort level, the heat can push your heart rate up by 10 to 20 beats per minute. Forget about chasing pace targets on your watch, train by heart rate or feel, and accept that a slower session in the heat is still worthwhile.

2. Sweat isn't just water- think electrolytes 🧪

When you sweat heavily, you’re losing crucial electrolytes, mainly sodium. Gulping litres of water won't fully restore the balance. To keep your fluid balance consider adding a high-sodium mix—like Precision Fuel & Hydration—to your bottles to replace what you're actually losing.

3. Upgrade your sun protection for performance 🧴

There is nothing worse than an hour into a hot climb on the bike or trail when your sunscreen mixes with sweat and runs straight into your eyes. Traditional chemical sunscreens often breakdown or slide off. Swapping to a sports designed, sweat-resistant mineral formula, like LifeJacket Mineral Sun Stick, gives your skin a physical barrier that stays put.

How are you managing the summer heat waves this year? Are you setting an alarm to beat the sun, or powering through the afternoon heat?👇
