Colour tells a story about you before you’ve even opened your mouth. It’s not just about what looks pretty, it’s about what actually works *with* you and your whole energy.

Most people have spent years defaulting to safe. Black frames, neutral everything, blending in. And there’s nothing wrong with that, except when it stops feeling like you.

Colour analysis isn’t about being handed a seasonal palette and told to crack on. At MODS it’s a proper conversation, done with drapes and a cup of tea, very much built around your personality and how you actually want to be seen in the world. Your prescription comes with you, obviously, because this is still very much about seeing properly too.

Here is something you can actually do today, in fact get the kids involved….I think!

Go to your wardrobe and pull out the colours you reach for most, not what you think you *should* wear, but what you actually keep putting on. That’s your starting point.

This could potentially turn into a good clear out…..you can thank me later 🙌

Now hold them up near your face in natural light and have a good look.
How do they really make you feel? Alive? Tired? Invisible?

Colour analysis isn’t about being told what you can and can’t wear. It’s about understanding *why* some colours make you look like you’ve had eight hours sleep and a holiday, and others just... don’t.

Your palette is already in there somewhere. Sometimes it just needs someone to help you find it, and maybe a brew and a good chat to go with it.

So I’ve been thinking about colour lately, not just in eyewear but in everything. The colours people are drawn to, the ones they’ve always worn and the ones they’d never dare touch.

And it got me curious about you lovely lot.

Is there a colour you’ve always loved but never quite had the confidence to actually wear? Or maybe one you dismissed for years and then suddenly thought, actually, yes, that’s mine?
I only wore black for too long but all that changed a few years ago. After accepting myself and realising that being seen isn’t so bad, I now embrace colour and know how my energy and confidence change when I wear it.
Absolutely not for everyone, but that is the point. Colour doesn’t mean pink neon flashing lights screaming `I’m here`!!
but your colours are the ones that lift your energy make you feel comfortable and good about yourself and we all deserve to feel that way.

It’s been a great day, we got our eyes tested, which means…..yay! New glasses!!!

Know anyone??

But it did remind me of why I love what I do and why I do it.

The obvious blue and white corporate is no longer for me, nor for my face.
It served me well (ish) for a while but that was when my wardrobe consisted of fifty shades of black and being ‘seen’ was scary 😱

Nothing bland about the studio, nor the way we explore eyewear TOGETHER. Advice, guidance, love and a brew.

Because it’s time we liked ourselves and didn’t squirm at the dark circles, the holiday chin or the extra line we developed laughing!…..I mean that has to be a good thing ❤️

So I encourage you to celebrate the reflection in the mirror and wear it with pride and amazing glasses 🤩

This week I`ll be talking colour….

Colour analysis is not about telling you what colours to wear. That's not it at all.

What it actually does is give you permission to wear what you already loved but talked yourself out of. The burgundy you kept putting back on the rail. The mustard you thought was "too much." Or the red lip you convinced yourself wasn't for someone like you 🙈

Often it’s the school playground talking, or the comment the ex made or your previous bully employer.

Then you sit in my chair, the drapes go on, and something magical happens. Not because of anything revolutionary, but because you see it for yourself. And you smile.

Colour analysis isn't a rulebook. It's a mirror. And for a lot of people, it's the first time they've properly looked.

So whether it’s colour analysis or eyewear styling….or perhaps both, I’m here to guide you.

Unfortunately we live In a world of I want it now and I seem to be writing URGENT on all my orders😅

Lots of people needing their glasses urgently, for yesterday, I am often one of those people...ooops.
Call it disorganised, call it busy…….call it whatever you like.
My excuse, personally, is both of these.

Unfortunately MODS doesn’t have a ‘PRIME’ option but……….
I do have an ‘I will always do my best’ attitude so between me and my lab I’d like to think we are super-efficient.

But

We CANNOT work miracles.

Little event this Wednesday 5th August and you are invited.

My grandma always told me ‘soap and water, that’s all you need’
Perhaps it was true…..then.

I’ve never had a skincare routine….never had the time or the inclination for myself. That was until I opened the studio and things changed ALOT. I now want to invest and ‘treat’ myself to feeling better. The fabulous Maria Worthington recently held an evening here where I’d tried the fabulous Tropic Skincare.

I`m not curious at all, because I know the answer. I`ve been there, done that and for this reason I have chosen to do things differently.
