Sometimes I can’t wait for a wholesale T-shirt to arrive, so a Primark tee takes one for the team and gets embroidered 😂

This one was actually a little top I made for myself, because apparently I can’t leave my own wardrobe alone either!

Couldn’t resist doing a little bunch of forget-me-nots on this one for my Nan.💙

Ironically, forget-me-nots are the flower associated with Alzheimer’s… so apparently someone, somewhere has a sense of humour. 🥲😂

And finally for this week… Ribbed Squish! 🤎

Think of Ribbed Squish as the perfect combination of Ribbed Jersey and Squish. The best of both worlds! 👌🏼

It’s still a polyester mix, made from 96% polyester and 4% elastane, with a lovely amount of stretch combined with all the soft, cosy goodness you get from Squish.

And once again, it’s another fantastic base for those cooler months. 🍂❄️

We’ve used Ribbed Squish for all sorts of styles, from jumpers and leggings for super cosy lounge sets, to half zips and joggers for the perfect outerwear.

And just like with Ribbed Jersey, choosing Ribbed Squish doesn’t mean compromising on the detail in your favourite designs.

The ribbed texture still works beautifully with our huge variety of prints, from bold and colourful designs to those with lots of intricate little details. ✨

So if you love the look and stretch of ribbed fabrics but want that extra soft, snuggly feel of Squish, Ribbed Squish might just be the one for you! 🤎

Today’s base is Squish! 🤎

Squish is a little different from our previous fabric bases, as it’s made from 95% polyester and 5% elastane.

And if you’re looking for something extra cosy for the colder months, this is definitely one to try! 🥰

Squish is perfect for winter jumpers and joggers, as well as those super-comfy lounge sets that keep you toasty all night long. It’s also especially good for anyone who feels the cold!

It’s incredibly soft, with a lovely pile to the fabric that reminds me of being wrapped up in a big, cosy blanket. 🧸

And despite all that cosiness, it still has plenty of stretch, meaning you can still use your favourite styles for those perfect winter outfits.

Basically… if you want soft, snuggly and warm, Squish is your friend! 🤎

On Wednesday, we wear pink… well, over here we wear Ribbed Jersey! 💕

If you’ve yet to try Ribbed Jersey, you are seriously missing out. 👀

It’s one of those fabrics that is so incredibly versatile. Perfect as a base layer, cosy top layer, leggings, shorts, rompers… you name it!

Just like our Cotton Jersey and French Terry, Ribbed Jersey is made from 95% cotton and 5% elastane.

The difference comes from the way the fabric is knitted. Because of its ribbed construction, it has a little less recovery in the stretch compared to our regular Jersey.

That’s why you’ll find that most of our Ribbed Jersey bottoms have an elasticated waistband, keeping them comfy and secure without you (or your little one!) constantly having to pull up those leggings or harems. 🙌

And don’t let the ribbed texture make you think you’ll lose any of the print quality!

Ribbed Jersey is suitable for all of our designs, from the bold and bright to those beautifully intricate, detailed prints. 🌈✨

Today we’re looking at French Terry, another one of our regular fabric bases.

You’ll find French Terry used for our jumpers, hoodies and joggers. Basically all those cosy pieces that are perfect when the weather starts to get a little cooler. 🍂

French Terry is buttery soft, stretchy and super snuggly, making it perfect for adding a little extra warmth and taking the edge off the chill without being overly heavy.

Just like our Cotton Jersey, our French Terry is 95% cotton and 5% elastane, so you still get that lovely softness and stretch.

The main difference? French Terry has a looped back.

If you’ve ever had a look at the inside of one of your French Terry items, you’ll be able to see those little loops of fabric. 👀

These loops are what give French Terry its lovely soft, cosy feel while keeping it lighter and more breathable than a traditional fleece-backed fabric.

So if you’re looking for something a little warmer and cosier than Jersey, but don’t want something super thick and heavy, French Terry is a great choice. 🤎

I’m going to be a little absent from socials over the next couple of weeks, so I’ve decided now is the perfect time to get some posts scheduled and talk a little more about each of the different fabric bases we offer. 🤍

I’m hoping that taking things back to basics will help if you ever find yourself wondering which fabric base might be best for you when ordering.

So, first up… Cotton Jersey! 🧵

This is the fabric base that makes up the majority of our items - from leggings and trousers to T-shirts and dresses.

Our Cotton Jersey is 95% cotton and 5% elastane, making it beautifully soft, breathable and stretchy.

It’s a really versatile fabric and a great everyday choice, which is why you’ll find it used across so many of our different styles.

Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll be breaking down the rest of our fabric bases and explaining the differences between them, so hopefully choosing the right one will feel a little easier. 💕

I know I say this often, but just because I’m slacking on the social media posts and website admin, it doesn’t mean I’m slacking on everything else! 🤣

I promise I’m still in my sewing room, sewing as fast as my little legs will carry me (okay, my legs aren’t actually that little… but you get the point 😂), whilst constantly trying to find that magical balance between running a business and actually spending time with my boys.

Because as much as I love Mitch & Stitch, I also don’t want to blink and realise I’ve missed them growing up while I was buried under a pile of fabric! 🥹❤️

Luckily for you all, the older they get, the less cool I become and the less they want to hang out with me… so I’m sure I’ll have PLENTY of time to update the website and spam your feeds soon enough! 🤣🤣

So, if you’re waiting on me to add something to the website, post something new or generally remember that social media exists… I’m getting there! 😂
