We first opened the shop back in 2023, initially we opened it in search for community & a more homemade way of life. Well we did just that…for over 3 years! We originally planned for it to be more of a food store where people could bring produce, services & knowledge and do a bit of good old fashioned bartering, we also ran workshops throughout the entire time the crop swap was running & then in 2024 we found ourselves taking on a local veg box as the group that we used sadly closed. We did that for nearly 2 years for a small group of friends and family - as this chapter comes to a natural close, I found myself still wanting to keep the best bits of the wonderful community we have built!

“On the hill” ….definitely still open for swapping of goods, services & knowledge, but with the added wonder of secondhand, vintage & homemade gifts and treasures for sale! We will be home to local makers & creators including:
Wonderful handmade pottery from Tania Sellwood
Gorgeous hand knitted crafts made by Bev Ingall
A collection of crocheted items from Tiny Teds
Baking with Iris aprons, baking tools & sets
The Crop Swap will still be running Pantry chats by invitation (so please do ask us about those if you’re interested)
The Lending Library, where we loan out books (cookery, craft & preserving techniques), we also loan small kitchen appliances (slow cookers, steam juicers, dehydrators etc) please ask us for more information!

All is well in the garden!

After a couple of weeks of beautiful sunny spring days I’m very pleased to see some rain. This is what spring weather should be….sunshine and showers.

I’m happy to be rained off for a day or two. We have been concentrating on the veggie plot, rearranging large areas of the garden and enlarging our chicken coop. I’m shattered so I’m going to spend a couple of days inside decorating😆
