At Baby Steps, we use lactose that naturally occurs in whole goat milk, with additional lactose sourced from cow's milk to meet the required carbohydrate levels specified in the Food Standard Code Australia New Zealand. As these are naturally occurring sugars, they are digested and absorbed more easily and have a positive impact on the gut microbiome (the community of good and bad bacteria in the gut).

What makes Baby Steps a gentle choice?

At the heart of our formula is fresh New Zealand whole goat milk, known for its lower level of αS1-casein protein, which may support easier digestion for little tummies in that it creates a softer curd in the tummy that is easier for little ones to digest.

We also believe that what we leave out is just as important as what we put in and that’s why our formulas are free from palm oil, fish oil, soy, refined sugars, preservatives, and gluten. We are also proudly Halal and vegetarian friendly.
