My name is Tracey Shanks and I am extremely honoured to have been chosen as a contestant in the Olive Estate Dancing for a Cause 2027, supporting Nelson Tasman Hospice - and I’m so proud to announce Homelee as my naming sponsor. I would like to thank Anna and Patrick Shone and Homelee for their support as I know this cause is also very personal to them.

This journey is personal to me;

I’m a proud Nelsonian, a Mum to two teenagers, and a Sales Representative for Homelee clothing and its sister brands.

In 2019, my family experienced one of the hardest times imaginable when we lost my young husband, Brent, and my girls lost their Dad.

During that incredibly difficult time, Nelson Tasman Hospice was there for us.

The care, compassion and support they provided our family meant more than I can put into words.

Hospice provides free specialist palliative care to around 200 local patients and their families every month. While it receives government funding, there is significant shortfall that must be raised by our community - over $4m annually! Every dollar makes a real difference.

Now I have the opportunity to give something back. I’ll be stepping well outside my comfort zone and onto the dance floor to raise as much as possible for hospice. This is about more than learning to dance; it’s about helping ensure Hospice can continue to be there for local families when they need it most.
