Front Desk & Alterations Fitting Specialist
Inara’s Alterations | Downtown Asheville
Inara’s Alterations is looking for a friendly, dependable, and highly organized person to join our downtown Asheville team.
This is more than a traditional front desk position. You’ll work directly with customers, manage alteration orders, and be trained to properly fit and pin garments for alterations.
What You’ll Do
• Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service
• Answer phone calls and text messages
• Schedule appointments and fittings
• Check garments in and out and accurately manage customer orders
• Process payments and use our point-of-sale system
• Learn alteration terminology and basic garment construction
• Measure, fit, and pin garments for alterations
• Clearly communicate alteration instructions to our seamstresses
• Ask a seamstress for assistance with complicated fittings when needed
• Monitor order deadlines and help maintain an organized workflow
• Keep the front desk and fitting areas organized and professional
• Assist customers with everything from everyday alterations and repairs to formalwear and bridal garments
-Take in shoe orders and manage the process
Sewing Experience Is NOT Required
You do not need to be a seamstress to apply.
We are willing to train the right person in measurements, garment fitting, alteration terminology, and proper pinning techniques.
Experience with clothing, sewing, tailoring, bridal, retail, or alterations is certainly a plus.
