Today we remember and honor all who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Rathel Bennett, Paul Bennett’s brother, served as a Staff Sergeant & Tail Gunner on B-17G “Emeigh” 323rd Bomber Squadron, 91st Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Rathel was Killed In Action on February 22, 1944 when his B-17 was attacked by enemy aircraft and crashed a mile West of Lugde, six miles Southwest of Hameln, Germany during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
