Peter from Phillips here — we’ve had customers come in saying, “Oh man… this streetscape project must be killing business.”

Truth is, business has been great. The Village of Barrington crews, Mayor Mike Moran, Leopardo and Abby companies have all been incredibly thoughtful through the whole project — keeping access open, shifting parking from block to block, and wrapping each day with the proper safety markings and walkways in place.
It’s dusty, noisy, occasionally confusing … and honestly handled about as well as a project this size possibly could be.
That said… I won’t pretend I won’t throw a small parade when the last orange cone disappears

“3 Hour Parking?” … somebody better tell the excavator.

The Barrington Streetscape Project is rolling right along. Eventually we’ll have beautiful new sidewalks, safer crossings, benches, flower beds bursting with color and a downtown that looks fantastic.

Right now? It looks like the moon landing with better parking restrictions. Getting in to shop can take a little determination, a little creativity, and possibly a tetanus update. Our private lot is closed today, so we suggest parking at the Harris Bank lot or Barrington Bank & Trust lot and making the final approach on foot like a downtown pioneer.

We are OPEN.
The sidewalks are mostly optional. And if you can successfully reach Phillips this week, frankly, you deserve a discount and a commemorative hardhat.

Thanks for shopping local and sticking with us through the dust, noise and spontaneous changes in traffic patterns. We truly appreciate it
