PUTU PUTRI - URGENT - GRADE 11 in JULY 2026
Putri, age 16, is the older of two siblings in Tabanan. She has a little brother who’s still in junior high school. As an 11th grade student, she has two years left in school until she can graduate and earn her senior high school diploma.
Putri’s parents are struggling to even afford their food, so they’ve asked Putri to drop out of school if she does not get sponsored soon, as her parents can’t afford it.
Putri almost dropped out of school when she was about to continue to junior high. Fortunately, she got sponsored just in time.
Unfortunately, Putri’s sponsor had to stop, so Putri is on the brink of dropping out of school again.
Putri’s parents are laborers who get paid per day. Her father is a construction laborer. He gets paid around $8 per day when there’s a job offer. He never gets to work more than a couple of weeks and it’s not every month that he could get a job. Her mother is a laborer for a small organic fertilizer manufacturer. She gets paid $3.5 per day and her work time is similar to her husband.
Putri loves dancing the most. She’s passionate about it and she even hopes to be a dance teacher when she’s grown up. In the beginning, she danced as a hobby, but because it’s free to learn dancing in her village and she enjoys dancing, she thinks being a dance teacher would be good. Naturally, she scores best in the art of dancing at school.
Another dream of hers is that she wishes she could graduate from a senior high school at the very least. Her parents only graduated from primary schools and she hopes she won’t have to end up like her parents. Her parents actually tried hard to keep working, but the pandemic makes it so hard for them to find jobs.
Putri usually goes to her friend’s house to get her online lessons, as her family can’t afford to pay for the internet mobile fee.
Putri’s favorite color is pink. She joins the Balinese Scripture club as her extra-curricular activity, as Balinese language is her favorite subject to learn at school.
