I grew up without my biological father present.

So I know firsthand what it means when a strong father figure is missing.

For a long time, the loudest stories about dads were the negative ones.

The dads who left.
The dads who disappeared.
The dads who only showed up when it was convenient.

But there are also millions of fathers doing it the right way.

Leading.
Loving.
Providing.
Protecting.
Staying.

Dad Built exists to shine a light on those men.

Because when we honor present fathers, we don’t just encourage one dad.

We show other men what is possible.

I had no idea what happened until we asked for the check.

Hat 37 of 365 went to a dad having breakfast with his family.

I walked over, handed him a Dad Built hat, and watched him read the note.

That was it.

Or so I thought.

When we finished eating, our server told us our bill had already been taken care of.

He had quietly paid for my family’s breakfast.

A $150 bill.

I never got the chance to thank him because he had already left.

Not every dad says yes.

And that’s okay.

The first dad in this video turned the hat down.

Right before I walked up, he was taking pictures with his family.

One of those moments they’ll probably look back on years from now.

The best part?

This happened in a country we don’t even ship to yet.

That made this one even more special.

No matter where we go, one thing keeps proving true:

Dads everywhere deserve to be seen, encouraged, and reminded that what they’re building matters.
