As parents, it feels good when our kids listen.

When we say, “𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦,” and they get up.

But that isn’t actually the dream.

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.

We don’t want our child to pray because we told them to.

The Qur’an has plenty of ayahs that teach us 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘩 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴.

But for a child, the meaning behind those ayahs may not always be clear and they might still be asking, “Yeah, but whyy?”

And that’s where it becomes challenging for many parents 😅

“But baba, I don’t want to pray.”

Most kids don’t exactly wake up one day feeling excited about praying.

Let alone do it 5 times a day 😅

When we tell our kids to pray, and they finally get up and do it, we breathe a sigh of relief.

“Alhamdulillah.”

But here’s something that keeps me up at night:

𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵… 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘂𝘀? 🤔

Because teaching our kids how to pray is only half the job. They also need to understand 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘩 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴.
