What an extraordinary honor it was to welcome this special group of World War II veterans to Meyer the Hatter! 🪖🇺🇸

They were in New Orleans with Donnie Edwards, his wife Kathryn, and the Best Defense Foundation for an event hosted by the Gary Sinise Foundation at The National WWII Museum. We were incredibly grateful they took the time to visit our shop and especially to spend time with Sam, our own 102-year old WWII veteran. ⚜️

Seeing these remarkable members of the Greatest Generation sharing stories, laughter, and the unmistakable bond of service was one of those moments we will always treasure.

We cannot thank them enough for their service, their sacrifice, and the unforgettable visit. 🇺🇸🎩

102 years young and surrounded by so much love. ⚜️

We’re eternally grateful to everyone who helped make Sam’s 102nd birthday so special. Thanks so much to our family, friends, customers, neighbors and everyone who stopped by, sent a message, shared a memory or simply wished Sam a happy birthday — you absolutely made his day!

Days like this remind us just how fortunate we are. Sam has given so much of his life to this shop, our family and New Orleans, and seeing that love returned to him was something we’ll always cherish. 🫶

Today We Tip Our 🎩 to Drew!

Congratulations to the 🐐 Drew Brees on being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame today in Canton, Ohio!

His impact on the city of New Orleans is immeasurable and will be felt for generations to come. He didn’t just leave a legacy. He became part of the fabric of this community, and will be forever woven into its soul.

Hoping one day we’ll get him in the shop so we can thank him in person, but until then…Thank You Drew! ⚜️ Drew Brees

There are people who become part of a city’s story simply by showing up every day with kindness, humility, and unwavering character. Sam is one of those people. ⚜️

Please join us for a reception in the front main lobby of the The National WWII Museum at 10:30 am where we'll celebrate with cupcakes & refreshments!

We'll head back to the shop in the afternoon for more fun! 🎩
