✨This antique office piece is ready for its next home.

Antique Cast Iron “Can’t Be Kept Down” Bill Spike
Circa 1880–1920

A wonderful piece of early office and mercantile history! These heavy cast iron bill spikes were once found on the counters of general stores, banks, hotels, and railroad depots, where receipts, invoices, and tickets were neatly filed on the steel spike. The weighted cast iron ball kept everything securely in place, inspiring the slogan cast into the base: “Can’t Be Kept Down.”

This example retains its beautiful original aged patina and honest wear from over a century of use, making it a fantastic display piece for farmhouse, industrial, primitive, or country store décor.

This week’s sales were all over the map… and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤎

Everything from vintage recipe cards, wall sconces, a 1950s radio, to an antique general store biscuit display case found new homes!

✨ 19 items sold from Monday through today across Vinted, eBay, Etsy, Mercari, Depop, and Facebook Marketplace.

My biggest sale was the antique biscuit display case for $175 on Etsy! 🙌

And my longest-held item FINALLY sold… a latch hook wall hanging that had been sitting in my shop for over two years. 😂 Let’s just say I’ve learned a lot about what to buy since then!
