Angel walked into an Alter Ego popup as a customer and walked out as part of our brand story.

The first time we saw this insanely stunning human, we immediately knew we had found the person we wanted to help launch our 2022 bandeau and bodysuit collection.

Thankfully, Angel trusted the vision.

Together with photographer James Gerde we created a campaign that remains one of the strongest of that era of Alter Ego. Angel understood the assignment from the first frame and brought the confidence, beauty, and creative energy the collection needed🔥

What makes the story even more special is that we met while we were both still early in our creative journeys. We always knew we needed another opportunity to work together. We were simply waiting for the right moment.

Bumbershoot is that moment.

This September, Angel returns to the Alter Ego universe, not just to model a garment, but to help bring the world of UNFRAMED to life on the runway.

UNFRAMED is about what happens when the art refuses to stay on the canvas.

This September, Alter Ego Expressions is coming to the Bumbershoot Fashion District with a performance-driven runway experience built around movement, transformation, and world-building.

Original artwork will come to life through sheer tapestries, custom fabrics, sculptural garments, choreography, sound, and a cast chosen to fully embody the Alter Ego universe.

So no, this is not just models walking from one end of the stage to the other. It’s about characters escaping what confined them and taking control of the moment. This is what happens when the art gets tired of simply being looked at and decides to take over the runway.

We still have to keep some details sealed for now, but expect dramatic reveals, unexpected movement, and a few moments that might completely change what you think the runway can be.

I first met G*t last year during my runway debut as a designer at the Cannonball Arts Fall Fashion Review. He was one of the models in another production and before he even stepped onto the runway, his aura was impossible to miss💎

While developing the UNFRAMED collection, I began designing a fabric in a very specific colorway for a garment that would need more than a model. It needed someone who could command the runway and make the entire look feel inevitable.

G*t immediately came to mind.

So when Bumbershoot opened the door for this collection, I knew it was time to lock in.

Now he is officially stepping into the Alter Ego universe, with two looks built for presence, movement, and impact.

The full garments stay under wraps for now.
Just know that when G*t hits the runway, you will understand exactly why it had to be him.

Sasha believed in Alter Ego art and vision long before the runway existed🖤

When I founded Alter Ego in 2018, I was still in 10th grade. I wasn’t old enough to enter Seattle’s nightclub scene, but I knew my art belonged there.

So my mom helped bring Alter Ego into local clubs, including Trinity Nightclub in Pioneer Square, one of the first venues to welcome my work.

That’s where Sasha connected with Alter Ego.

Even though we couldn’t meet in person back then, she showed up for the vision in every way she could. She collected so many of my early Alter Ego pieces, modeled the merch for free, promoted the brand, sent words of encouragement, and believed in what I was building from the very beginning long before there was a storefront or a Bumbershoot runway.

We only recently met face-to-face, but it felt like reconnecting with someone I had known forever.

Now Sasha is officially joining our runway cast!! When I was designing the evening gown she’ll wear, I envisioned someone with Sasha’s allure, beautiful silhouette and defiant energy bringing it to life. Now she’ll be the one wearing it on the Bumbershoot runway.

From discovering Alter Ego inside Trinity Nightclub to becoming part of the Alter Ego Universe on the Bumbershoot runway, this is really THE definition of a full-circle moment✨

Alter Ego Expressions is bringing **UNFRAMED** to the Bumbershoot runway, and the hair cannot play it safe.

We have eight models locked in and we’re looking for stylists who know how to create bold, alternative, editorial looks that hit from every angle and still hold up through rehearsals, movement, backstage chaos, and festival weekend.

We need talent experienced in:

**Cornrows • Loc Mohawk Updos • Hime Cuts • Fang Bobs • Finger Waves • Goth-a-Billy Hair • Goth Shags • Wolf Cuts • Wig Installs**

This could be a great fit for a stylist who wants to:

• Add runway and editorial work to their portfolio
• Create something outside of everyday salon hair
• Work alongside a team of local artists, designers, models, and performers
• Attend Bumbershoot with a **weekend pass in exchange for styling services**

We’re open to working with multiple stylists, so you do **not** need to specialize in every look. Being seriously good at one or two of them is enough to reach out. Must have availability Sept 1-3 for styling appointment.

Ballots are about to go out. Don’t sleep on this election.🗳️

Judicial races don’t always get the loudest noise online, but they are absolutely the races that shape real lives, real rights, and real futures. This is not the one to sit out.

Huge thank you to everyone who pulled up to Simply Soulful tonight to hear directly from Judge Sharonda Amamilo, candidate for Washington Supreme Court, Position 5.

After hearing her speak on her experience, her judicial track record, and her commitment to justice, the assignment is clear: she is more than qualified, deeply prepared, and worthy of our vote.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Jaelynn Scott today, candidate for Washington State Representative, Legislative District 37, Position 2. Another amazing candidate doing the work and absolutely worthy of our vote.

Ballots drop this Friday 7/17 and Election Day is Tues Aug 4th

The courts matter. Our legislature matters. Our votes matter.

Alter Ego Expressions is bringing Unframed to the Bumbershoot runway, and we’re looking for TWO backstage dressers to join the team. This is a volunteer role. You’ll receive a free Bumpershoot weekend pass as a gratis!

Show dates: September 5–6, 2026 Location: Seattle Center  
You’ll be helping our models get into their looks, handling wardrobe changes, and keeping garments and accessories organized behind the scenes.

You’re probably a great fit if you’re:
• Fast, focused, and detail-obsessed • Calm when backstage gets chaotic • Respectful, discreet, and professional • Comfortable handling custom, sheer, structured, and delicate garments • Available for rehearsals and both show dates. Rehearsals and fittings will take place before the show.
Backstage dressing, wardrobe, styling, costume, or fashion production experience a plus.
