This Wedgwood creamer had a noticeable chip, yet it still sold for $150.

While condition certainly affects value, it isn’t the only thing collectors consider. Rarity, demand, age, and historical significance can make an imperfect piece worth owning.

Before you leave a chipped piece behind at a thrift store or estate sale, ask yourself:

Is it rare enough that someone will still want it?
