At Ocean Drive Leather Inc., we had the incredible privilege of executing the costume and helmet builds for the epic “Dancing with the Enemy” scene in Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. Taking these stunning concept designs off the page through custom tailoring, patterning, 3D model and printing, helmet fabrication, and detailed build work was an amazing collaborative journey.

A massive thank you to the director and the entire design team for trusting our hands to build these pieces, and to every single artist in our shop who poured their talent into this scene! 👗🪖✨

From Digital Blueprints to Disney’s Screen. ♟️🎬

Take an inside look at how we brought the live chess piece dance sequence to life for Disney’s Descendants: Wicked Wonderland!

For the high-energy “Dancing with the Enemy” musical number, we needed headpieces that looked heavy, regal, and cinematic for close-ups—yet remained lightweight and durable enough for dancers executing intense choreography on set.

Here’s how our build process went down:

🎨 Concept Art: The incredible Jason Castagna

💻 3D Modeling & Printing: Digitizing the dancers head scans and art into 3D models tailored to the performers’ measurements, then 3D printing the master pieces. Retrobound for your 3d modelling prowess.

🛠️ Molding & Casting: Creating custom silicone molds from the 3D prints to cast lightweight, impact-resistant resin headpieces built for dance routines. Our AMAZING molding and casting team Adam Warlock , Chelsea Bristol, Hannah Bittante

Finally!! Showcasing the completed Chloe Charming build for Descendants: Wicked Wonderland. The focus of this piece centers on the sharp tailoring of the bolero jacket, complemented by intricate, precision-engineered laser work.
Full credit to the design team for creating such a dynamic, innovative look for this next chapter. Malia Baker looks stunning in blue.
Chloe boots were changed to a different design but posting as they are so beautiful!

Our journey with Arrow began in 2012, the same year our daughter was born, and took us on a wild ride until 2020. As the demand for CW shows in Vancouver grew, so did our employees, and with it, our ability to craft more complex, edgy suits.
