Join The Great Bangor Sewing Bee!

Calling all sewists, crafters, and creative souls, come and be part of our friendly social sewing circle. Well, sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery and all things textile circle!

Why You’ll Love It:
- A welcoming space to sew, stitch, knit, or craft alongside fellow makers
- Share tips, swap ideas, and learn from each other
- Perfect for all levels, from beginners to seasoned pros
- Sewing machines and workspace provided

There’s no pressure, no formal instruction and no sewing police, just good company, creativity, sewing support with plenty of tea and coffee. So bring your project, a smile, and maybe a friend or two. We can’t wait to see you!

When: Weekly, Tues 10:30am, Thurs 6pm
Where: 1st floor studio, 71a High Street, Bangor (Off Holborn Avenue)
Cost: £5 per person, pay at studio

Carrickfergus you were amaxing! Two days of fabulous sewing. So lovely to meet everyone. If you would like to learn to sew, there are beginner classes in the Bangor sewing studio in September. New dates and classes coming soon, for Carrick and maybe Ballymena and Lisburn! See you soon :)

What an amazing two days of sewing!!! Carrickfergus you were amazing! So lovely to meet everyone and see you sew your bags - keep up the fabulous sewing!

For anyone wanting to learn to how to use a sewing machine, there are beginner lessons scheduled in the Bangor sewing studio for September. Will be on the road again for Carrick and looking at Ballymena and Lisburn. Classes and dates all shared on the page. See you soon :)

I'm pausing the stall applications for now as have a long list of names of those who say they are interested. Will leave it a few days and see if anyone changes their mind and if any slots free up.

Calling all stashers and hoarders, it's time for a Textile Destash!!

We're throwing open the doors of The Dressmaker's Apprentice studio for a textile destash pop-up on Saturday 3rd October.

If your stash has taken over the spare room (we don't judge, ours has too), this is your chance to clear space, make a bit of cash, and give beautiful materials a second home. And if you're on the hunt for a bargain, come and see what treasures other stitchers are letting go of.

We're looking for stallholders selling:
👗 Pre-loved clothing
🧵 Fabrics
🧶 Yarn and wool
🎀 Ribbons and trims
🪡 Threads and haberdashery

Whether you've got a full stash to clear or just a bag of bits, there's a spot for you.

📍 The Dressmaker's Apprentice, 1st floor studio, 71a High Street, off Holborn Avenue
📅 Saturday 3rd October

All you need is a needle! Sewing is all about technique, not your sewing machine! These are old sewing school textbooks teaching ‘simple’ things such as a bound buttonhole!!! Grab you needle and let’s go!

Have your own machine but never used it? Bring it along and learn on it.

Amazing two days of sewing with this lovely lot in Carrickfergus! All sewing naturals! Looking forward to the next classes 21st and 22nd August. There are alos classes in the Bangor sewing studio throughout September. New classes and dates will be shared soon on my page. Look forward to seeing you there and seeing what you sew!

What an amazing two days of sewing in fabulous Carrickfergus! A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along on Friday and Saturday, you are all sewing naturals!

A big well done too, to two of our youngest beginners, who both did an amazing job learning to use their sewing machines and sewing their reversible fabric bags. You really can learn to sew at any age. 🥰

Next classes in Carrick are the 28th and 29th of August. These are currently full, however there has been such interest I'll be sharing more dates and classes for Carrick soon - they'll always be shared on my page first - follow to make sure you don't miss out.

There are beginner classes scheduled throughout September in the Bangor studio - look forward to seeing you there too!
