We had a great time a couple of weeks ago joining our local farmers in the Dales for an open shearing event. Visitors could watch sheep being sheared, and see a variety of different breeds. We took along our boards that explain how this same fleece gets processed into our traceable wool and tweed; Clapdale Wool.

Does it get more Yorkshire than a flat cap?

The story of our traceable Clapdale Wool cap begins right here, in the fields surrounding us in the Yorkshire Dales.

Our thick country tweed is woven in Yorkshire from a blend of wool from our local Dalesbred sheep, with fleeces sourced from farms within just 10 miles of our Yorkshire Dales warehouse.

From local farms, through skilled craftsmanship, to a traditional flat cap, every stage of its journey stays close to home.

Fully traceable, beautifully made and rooted in the landscape that inspired it, this is a true Yorkshire story.

A small business confession…

Our social media department (otherwise known as us!) has been wearing a lot of hats lately.

The truth is, there are some amazing small businesses out there creating fantastic content. Beautiful photography, engaging videos and brilliant storytelling. We genuinely admire the time, talent and creativity that goes into it.

For many businesses, content creation is a full time job in itself, and rightly so. Good social media doesn't just happen by accident (despite our best wishes).

For us, content creation is something we are currently squeezing in between packing orders, speaking to customers and keeping British manufacturing ticking along.

We know we need to make more time for it, and we're working on it. But in the meantime, thank you for sticking with us.

Whether we post once a day or once a week. We're still here, doing what we've always done for nearly 40 years, making high quality products that last.
