From New Zealand all the way to New York City! 🥝🍎

Arrived in the big apple with a couple of suitcases full of jackets, a loose plan, and no idea what New York would make of them.

charlesallblue was the first to find out.

Charles is 73 and a fixture of the SoHo streetwear scene. He’s been showing up to the drops, the openings and the pop ups for decades. About ten years ago the internet found him and he’s been the guy people go to for the story behind a brand ever since.

We crossed paths at Alfargo’s Marketplace , I told him the story, and he decided to show me around SoHo and put me in front of the right people. He made a big difference and really helped me out.

Here he is in the Piha Black Heritage Jacket, the Oscar Eide polo and a few of the caps. All made in New Zealand.

Here’s a preview of our newest creation. A full length duster based off our original designs from the early 90s.

Finished off with lambskin leather, Fujikinbai Japanese 500gsm canvas and a detachable cape. It’s something truly unique that’s made in New Zealand.

How could you infuse Central Otago’s iconic ridgelines into a pocket?

The idea was sparked on a flight out of Queenstown, the ranges rolling past the window.

Meet the Ridgeline Utility hat, a prototype and a bit of an experiment.

Each one is cut from our leftover Fujikinbai Japanese canvas and nappa lambskin leather offcuts, saved from the production of our Heritage Jackets. Because we make everything here in New Zealand, we can give every last piece a second life.

The pocket up front holds a pencil, some spare cash, whatever you want within reach. Lambskin trim on one side, mesh on the other.

The first and only two hats will be available online tomorrow at 2pm NZT at www.oscareide.nz. If you like where this is heading, send me a DM and we can make a few more. Every hat comes out slightly different since they’re cut from scraps, or we can do a solid colour on request.
