RULE #1 WITH A UV BOX: WATCH THE HEAT. 🌡️👟

UV light boxes can get HOT—and heat + sneakers can become a bad combination REAL quick. 😭

Too much heat can soften adhesives and increase the risk of your shoes separating.

So if you’re treating oxidation, don’t just throw your kicks in the box and forget about ’em.

CHECK YOUR SHOES.
MONITOR THE TEMP.
DON’T LET ’EM COOK. 😂🔥

And the same rule goes for your car.

That trunk gets HOT. Leaving your kicks back there baking in the summer heat is NOT sneaker storage. 😭

Restoration takes patience.

The goal is to bring your kicks back to life… not have the sole and upper filing for divorce. 😂👟

Use your UV light. Watch your temperature. Check your progress.

And PLEASE don’t forget you left your kicks in the box. 💯

You ever buy a fresh white tee, wear it a couple times, wash it… and somehow it just NEVER hits like that first wear again? 😭

White kicks can be the SAME way.

WATER + SUEDE? Usually a HELL NO. 😭💧👟

But here’s where knowing your materials REALLY matters.

Not every “suede” sneaker is made from the same thing.

Natural suede can be sensitive to water and improper cleaning can leave you with stains, stiffness, texture changes or color issues.

But some artificial/faux suede materials can handle water-based cleaning MUCH differently. 👀

And here’s the part people forget…

The SAME sneaker model can use different materials depending on the colorway, release and YEAR it dropped.

So before you start cleaning, know EXACTLY what pair you’re working on.

What year?
What release?
Natural or synthetic?
What material is actually on the shoe?

Because in restoration, you don’t get to say “my bad” and hit CTRL + Z. 😭

One false move and you’re F***ED.

KNOW. YOUR. MATERIALS. 💯

A brass brush can SAVE your suede… or TEAR IT UP. 😭👟

The difference? KNOWING YOUR MATERIALS.

Before you ever put a brass brush to a shoe, you need to know what you’re working with. Authentic suede and faux/synthetic suede don’t always respond the same way—and going aggressive with the wrong material can turn a simple cleanup into a problem REAL quick. 👀

On the right authentic suede, LIGHTLY working with a brass brush can help loosen up stiff, matted fibers and bring that soft, fluffy texture back. 🪥🔥

And notice we said LIGHTLY. 😂

Then come back with Just Suede to help refresh and rehydrate the appearance of that color. 😮‍💨
