That's the most emotional regulation I have mustered in months.
I feel like I can juggle the big stuff. But inevitably it is the small things that trip me up and send me into a spin.
Anything involving tech or instructions has the power to break me and reduce me to tears, overwhelm, panic attacks and amateur dramatics.

So proud of me for this bin. And the calmness with which high it was installed!

Canny proud of the kids too like. And the life I have built myself. But the bin! Every time I use it I'll feel@a@surge of positivity. It's the small wins.

I am pleased with the progress I am making. Today's run felt good! My planter fasciitis is making my right foot hard to run on. But it is not stopping me.
This week I am jointing a running club. I'm nervous. But it will be nice to have company and make new friends.
I am very anxious about the Great north Run. But if I work hard I know I can make a lot of progress between now and then. 6 weeks to go: I can rack up another 6 k at least.🤞

Nurdling. Collecting the nurdle plastic pollution down at North Shields beach. Alongside so many other people who have dedicated hours of their time to pick up these tiny beads.
Emotional in a sad way and in a good way too.
My first time at this beach. What a beautiful spot.
So many nurdles so deep in the sand. If only the authorities had acted sooner. Or allowed the public to act sooner.
If you can get out to help. Please do.

I have always wanted to climb Ben Nevis, the UK's highest peak. To reach the top with both my boys, and Bruno was awesome.
The climb was easy. The decent was brutal. Lose stone underfoot and big rocks to navigate. My old knees weren't happy. I barely looked up. It took me 6 hours to do the circuit. The boys did it in much less. Steaming ahead of their old mum.
Ben Nevis is one busy hill, I can't imagine how many people climb in a day let alone a year.
It is satisfying to look at every other mountain in the UK and know I have climbed higher.
ScarFell Pike is in our sights. England's highest. We should bag it before the summer is out.

Can we stop pretending this is “content”?

Filming people who are clearly struggling with addiction, homelessness or other vulnerabilities and uploading it for likes, views and ad revenue isn’t ok.

It’s ritual humiliation and dehumanising.

It’s turning someone’s struggle into “content”

I’ve seen more and more of these videos popping up on TikTok and Instagram recently, filmed on those bliddy glasses, and they’re proper rank. Reducing real people with real lives, families and trauma into punchlines whilst they have no idea they are being filmed.

I’m mortified that this is happening in Newcastle. People deserve dignity man!

There’s a petition set up by Christine Grey targeting two local “content creators” calling for stronger protections against exploitative, non-consensual filming of vulnerable people. Please sign it- we need change- link in comments.

Heaton born Ove Arup's world famous Kingsgate Bridge. Such a beautiful piece of engineering and design. I am so damn proud of the north east.
