🍂🧶 Happy Thanksgiving from Fluffmade! 🦃

This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling especially grateful for the wonderful community that continues to support our little Canadian business. 🧡

And we have an extra reason to be thankful this year! We’ve just passed 3,000 followers on Facebook, bringing our little fluffy corner of the internet to more than 4,300 followers across Facebook and Instagram. 🥹

Whether you’ve placed an order, shared one of our posts, recommended us to a friend, or simply followed along on our wonderfully fluffy adventures, you’ve helped make Fluffmade what it is today.

Okay, we’ve been keeping this one under wraps long enough. 👀

🏒 Hockey is back on the TV, which has us looking at these again…

We made these pillow covers a while back for a silent auction, and now we’re wondering whether something like this deserves a place at Fluffmade. (We think it does.)

So, purely in the interests of market research 👀:

No promises just yet. We’re trying very hard not to give ourselves seventeen new projects at once. But with Christmas creeping closer, we’re curious: what would you actually like to see from us?

Still on the first cake. 🧶

Have you seen this one?

A little while ago, we introduced our guest yarns, which includes this cake — and all these soft blues, dusty pinks, lilacs, creams and greys wrapped together.

Well… we started a project just last week, and we’re still on the same yarn cake.

So far this one cake has made the entire collar, the full yoke and has kept going into the body of this sweater — and there’s still yarn left.

And this might be our favourite part of working with long colour changes: you never quite know how they’re going to unfold.

What looked like soft streaks of colour in the cake has turned into wide, watercolour-like sections through the fabric, with little flashes of mint and lilac appearing along the way.

Sometimes metreage on a label is just a number. Seeing how far one cake actually goes? That’s a little easier to appreciate. ✨

We’ll keep you posted on exactly where cake #1 finally gives up. 😅

Okay, yarn and creatively crafty people. We need your help. 🧶

If you’re on our newsletter list, you got a longer version of our update yesterday. If you’re not, we’re bringing it to you right here on your favourite platform.

Yarn season is officially here, we’re finally emerging from the moving boxes, and we’re starting to plan the arrival of more boxes, this time with products and items from your fall/winter wish lists.

So, we wanted to ask you: What are you looking for?

Is there a yarn you just can’t seem to find? A brand you’d love us to carry? A fibre, weight or colour we’re missing? Do you need something for an upcoming CAL/KAL/MAL? Or have you been waiting patiently for us to stock something very specific?

Tell us in the comments. Seriously. 🫶🏻

Whether it’s a tea, mug, yarn, candle or something else entirely, we want to hear it. We can’t promise we’ll bring in every suggestion, but if a whole bunch of you mention the same thing, that’s very useful information. 😂

And while we’re planning what’s next, there are already a few things happening behind the scenes. All 18 colours of Dots will be hitting the website soon, and we’re working towards an end-of-October release for the Winter Quartz Sampler Blanket pattern and kits. ❄️

🍂 The leaves are changing, the temperatures are dropping and, most importantly, YARN SEASON IS BACK. 🧶

Which seems like an excellent time for Fluffmade HQ to start looking vaguely like a yarn business again. 😂

We’ve been very quiet around here lately. Between moving, unpacking, life and generally trying to remember which box contains what, the studio has been firmly at the bottom of the priority list.

But this weekend? Totes. 🗃️

Beautiful, glorious, labelled totes.

Tulla Twinkle has a home. Riverbank has a home. Glimmer and Wildflower have a home. And we can finally open a box without wondering whether we’ll find yarn, office supplies or something we haven’t seen since July.

Is the studio finished? Absolutely not.

Is there still yarn in places yarn probably shouldn’t be? Almost certainly.

But we’re getting there — just in time for the season when suddenly everyone remembers that wrapping yourself in several kilometres of fibre is, in fact, an excellent life choice.

🍁 Fall is here. Yarn season is officially in, and Fluffmade is slowly emerging from the boxes — mostly so we can put yarn into different boxes and send it to you. 🫶🏻🥰

Bamboo yarn has a reputation for being silky, cool and beautifully drapey, but there's more to it than meets the eye.

Most bamboo yarn is actually made from regenerated cellulose, which helps give it that smooth feel and fluid movement makers love.
